This recording, presented by the members of the AANN Neuroassessment Task Force, discusses the importance of developing a standard neurological assessment for the adult hospitalized patient that can be used by nurses from all specialties. Neurological changes can be subtle, yet by using keen assessment skills the nurse can detect these changes and intervene to prevent further deterioration. Task force members will describe the process of developing a white paper and how they came to a consensus on the areas of focus.

1. Nurses will self-report an increase in knowledge about performing a neurological assessment of the adult hospitalized patient.
2. Nurses will self-report the rationale for performing a neurological assessment on the adult hospitalized patient.
Participants can earn 1 CE contact hour for viewing the recording and completing the evaluation. Credit for this activity will be awarded through August 17, 2027.
